Definitions and conditions that specify our statements on sustainability.
We use the term for measures and products that demonstrably cause lower CO₂ emissions than average. This is a relative assessment, not an absolute net-zero balance. The information is based on publicly available studies and manufacturer data.
No. We list both certified projects and promising approaches without an official seal. A lack of certification does not necessarily mean lower quality, but can be due to different testing procedures or a lack of resources. We transparently indicate the certification status.
Our figures come from scientific sources, industry reports, and direct information from the initiatives. We use conservative estimates and point out uncertainties. A complete accounting according to ISO 14064 has only been carried out for explicitly named projects.
Climate protection encompasses all measures to reduce greenhouse gases. Climate neutrality means that remaining emissions are offset through certificates or sinks. We primarily promote protection, as offsetting can only be a supplementary tool. We use both terms precisely.
The recommendations are general in nature and do not replace individual advice. Regional conditions, personal circumstances, and technical requirements can affect effectiveness. We recommend discussing larger investments with experts beforehand.
We update content at least quarterly. For dynamic topics such as funding programs or legislative changes, delays may occur. The date of the last review is at the end of each article. For binding information, we refer you to official bodies.
Describe your concern to us – we will get back to you with a suitable assessment.
