Our Self-Image

GrünImpuls – Climate Communication with Conviction

We accompany companies, municipalities, and initiatives in shaping their environmental communication honestly, clearly, and effectively. No greenwashing, no empty promises – but concrete steps for greater climate awareness.

Who We Work For

Our team supports small and medium-sized enterprises that want to make their CO₂ footprint transparent, as well as city administrations developing sustainable neighborhood concepts. Associations and educational initiatives advancing climate education are also among our partners.

Target group: SMEs, municipalities, educational projects

What Drives Us

We believe that real change begins with honest information. That's why we rely on fact-based content that stimulates thought and highlights options for action. Our focus is on the areas of nutrition, mobility, and consumption – the biggest levers in everyday life.

Guiding principle: Honest, concrete, effective

Our Tone

We communicate factually, but not condescendingly. Short sentences, clear examples, and a touch of optimism – without resorting to incantations. Every contribution should give the reader the feeling: "I can implement this myself."

Style: Understandable, confident, without exaggeration

Our Stance

Climate protection is not a competition, but a shared task. We refrain from assigning blame and instead focus on solution-oriented reporting. We remain critical of pseudo-solutions and advocate for measures that truly make a difference.

Principle: Solutions instead of accusations

Milestones of the Green Transition

A chronology of the most important stages on the path to greater climate awareness and sustainable innovation.

2019 – First municipal climate concepts

The city of Freiburg adopts an integrated climate protection concept with concrete measures in the areas of transport, building renovation, and renewable energies. Citizen participation and an independent climate advisory board ensure transparency and acceptance.

2021 – Founding of GrünImpuls

From a student initiative, the platform GrünImpuls emerges, which makes local sustainability projects visible and connects actors from science, business, and civil society. The first pilot projects in three federal states start in the same year.

2023 – CO₂ footprint tool for households

Together with the Federal Environment Agency, a free online tool is developed that enables private households to carry out a detailed analysis of their ecological footprint. Over 50,000 users tested it within the first six months.
